High Stiffness, Low Inertia Servo Motor Couplings
Miki Pulley developed the Servo-Flex line of metal disc couplings to fulfill the high performance requirements of servo motor applications. Engineered for high speed, superior precision, and exact positioning, the Servo-Flex offers unparalleled value. The flexible metal disc elements allow for varying amounts of shaft misalignment, while providing superior torsional rigidity, low inertia, high repeatability, and high speed capability. All models are backlash free.
Through Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in the rigorous research and development phase, Miki Pulley engineers designed an optimal size and shape of the metal disc element. Multiple disc elements are combined into a proprietary disc pack assembly for the coupling. The couplings are available in a Single-Flex design (one disc pack) or a Double-Flex design (two disc packs separated by an intermediate member). The Single-Flex model emphasizes torsional stiffness , while the Double-Flex model provides greater flexibility to accept shaft misalignment.
